EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Ashish heads BDO’s Tax and Regulatory services in Oman, Bahrain and the UAE. Gaining experience in New York in US State and local taxes, Ashish has spent a significant amount of time on indirect taxes in Mumbai and Pune where he supported clients with the implementation of the latest GST. In addition to overseeing indirect tax compliance for clients, he also was involved in how clients prepare both their business and supply chain plans with due consideration of the impact of indirect taxes. This knowledge of indirect and direct taxes across the GCC, enables him to provide cross-border tax advice to regional and international groups including tax due diligence for mergers and acquisition. As a trained lawyer, Ashish also supports clients with various Tax Tribunals in appeals arising out of assessments. In addition to providing Excise Tax advisory and compliance services to clients, he supports the various authorities in considering policy changes to address the needs of clients. Ashish provides advice to HNWIs and groups on how to comply with Economic Substance Rules when relocating to the GCC.
