Your opportunity

  • Overall responsibility of the role is to support the Head of Finance for analysis and reporting
  • Budgeting – Help develop and maintain the annual budget, including revenue, headcount, and capital expenditure forecasts. Collaborate with service line heads to ensure the accuracy of the budget.
  • Monthly management reports – Assist in preparing timely and insightful monthly management reports, including variance analysis, key performance indicators (KPIs), and actionable insights.
  • Monitoring KPIs and other action items – Track the KPIs and action items arising for the Finance function, monitor progress, and work closely with the Head of Finance and other service line heads to drive improvements in financial and operational performance.
  • Working capital forecast – Maintain a rolling working capital forecast, identify cash flow requirements, and propose strategies to optimise working capital efficiency.
  • Revenue and net profit forecast – Collaborate with the relations team and service line heads to create revenue forecasts and support in preparing profitability analysis by service line.
  • Compliance with relevant laws – Ensure compliance with all financial and accounting regulations, including tax laws, IFRS, and industry-specific regulations. Stay updated on changes in relevant laws.
  • Financial statements preparation – Lead the preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to reporting deadlines.
  • Policies and procedures – Develop and maintain finance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations, recognising practicalities, yet ensuring internal controls are consistently upheld.
  • Ad hoc analysis or reports – Perform ad-hoc financial analysis as required to support business decisions and strategic planning.
  • Sustainability reporting – Lead the development of reporting sustainability initiatives, ensuring accurate and transparent disclosure of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors.

Education

  • The person needs to have a strong analytical and compliance mindset.
  • The person in this role needs to have excellent communication skills to communicate reports and analyses effectively, including the ability to present complex data in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Focus and discipline  are important aspects of this role, along with the ability to have an open mind and look beyond the status quo to search for solutions.
  • Being organised, and skilled at time management is an important aspect of this role along with a commitment to ongoing learning.
  • The person must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
  • The person needs to showcase the ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with a high level of difficulty.
  • The person needs to have the ability to identify opportunities for process improvements, cost control, and financial innovation within the Firm.

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited University and an accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, or CPA).
  • Four plus years experience in management accounting, financial analysis, or a similar role preferably in the professional services industry.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and accounting standards including advanced level of knowledge on UAE VAT law.
  • Able to draft policies and reports to a high standard as per guidelines.
